FRIDAY 5th @ 5pm UK time: Resonance FM: I'm ready for my close up : Why Cameras? Not Bread?

Resonance FM : 104.4FM Londonwide/ Resonance FM worldwide

FRIDAY 5th AUGUST 17th:  I'm Ready For My Close Up

"Why  Cameras? Not Bread?" was created by CUMCA in South Korea, Captured by Children in Zambia, Chosen by Children in UK and Produced and Presented by Theatre For All (www.theatre4all.com  - SW London)

Children in a Zambian village were given cameras to show their lives through their own eyes - revealing that whilst they may not have many material goods their lives are not necessarily unhappy, giving a very refreshing new and joyous view of African day to day life.

Bona Shin and Tina Attoh of Theatre for All join Debbie Golt  to talk about how the children's pictures enabled dreams to be shared and the process of involving children here in selecting photos for a recent exhibition. And what next?! "

Save the date! Wednesday 25th MAY! WHY? ONB - the brilliant North African/French big band are back in the UK for a fabulous and unmissable date at the 02 and Outerglobe has all the lowdown ... stay tuned for special offers on this page in the next couple of weeks

As Songlines magazine says  the " ten-piece band from the Barbes district of Paris are at the top of their game because they can dabble in a dozen different styles, yet still have their own distinct sound which is recognisable after only a few bars. Having been fairly quiet for almost ten years, they returned in 2008 with the confident and high-spirited Alik and their new album Rendezvous Barbes consolidates that return with its jaunty, agreeably rough-round the edge rowdiness. Long may they continue to mix Middle Eastern and African grooves with Parisian panache and bravado. It's rare for music to be this fun without for one moment becoming superficial. Fans of both Rachid Taha and Les Negresses Vertes should investigate."

This is the flyer you'll be seeing around town (London) - encouraging you to come and join WOM@TT  at The Tabernacle on SATURDAY 9th APRIL to see ZONG ZING - arguably London's hottest - certainly most exuberant - dance band who really DO get full on audience animation going on! You try resisting when they call you to dance - and even show you the moves. Seriously tho - the band plays music right from the roots with superb style and skill. African music soaring high!                                                                                                                                                                                       Lead guitarist Fiston Lusumbo  learnt his craft alongside members of Staff Benda Billi as a very young dude and in UK was a mainstay instrumentalist of Nsimba Foggis's TAXI PATA PATA - indeed Zong Zing's best loved song is a cover of Taxi's 'MAKUMBA'.  Fiston and  Mick DJo & DJani the charismatic singer/animateurs have honed their craft with majors - including  Orchestra Virunga of Samba Mapangala, Ok Jazz of Franco Makiadi, Big Musica of Defao, Matimbila of Remi Ongala, Rumba ray de Maray of Papa Wemba and they even have a semi finalist of X factor!  This alongside  heavyweight stints with Taxi Pata Pata of Nsimba Foggis as well. They know how to delight the crowds with their CAVACHA music........
                                                                                                                                                                     The Musical Style: Cavacha
‘Cavacha’ is a highly danceable music characterised by intricate guitar picking from three guitarists, soaring vocal harmonies and driving percussion. The music reaches a crescendo during the “Seben”, with the intricate guitar picking, irresistible rhythms and sublime vocal harmonies combine to create a barely suppressed euphoria: and is arguably one of the most infectiously danceable forms of music in the world!                                                                                                                                                      SO ..................        TICKETS are £5 in advance & concessions & £8 door                                                  Get your advance tickets from
