UP!!D8s for the Autumn into Winter 

I seem to be being a DJ as much as anything these days! And got radio very much on my radar still as well. I am currently doing a lot of editing to bring the myriad of interviews that I did in the Gambia in January up to listening quality to do them justice and also to share with the interviewees. I am going there shortly and want to represent well. I have also been invited to take part in a wonderful event organised by WAPPY on November 30th at Ealing Library from 1.30pm

SISTERS OF REGGAE ON SOHO RADIO WITH THE MONO LOCO MIXTAPE TAKEOVER every Saturday into Sunday in August with the last one UP!!  this Saturday/Sunday Midnight-2am on Soho Radio   All the other shows (and this one as well after broadcast) are in Sisters of Reggae Mixcloud   ENJOY  !  There's Lucky Cat with Yumi Hi Power of Jamaica (via Japan), Naoko the Rock with Grace of Spades from NYC, Debbie Golt - ie me with Musufing representing the Gambia and wider Africa, Sweetie with Roots Daughters of Berlin and Miss Feelgood with The Birette all girl Ska band from Bologna who contributed some tracks for a mix  including some of their own. Hopefully there will be more such again! 

SISTERS OF REGGAE  had a great summer run at Ziggy's Rooftop Bar and Cinque Ports in Margate playing some great tunes to some great crowds. More please!

I am currently putting forward a funding request for donations to help my friend MALICK JAGNE complete his degree course in Peace and Conflict Studies at the University of the Gambia . He had to abandon his studies as the fees became impossible to reach because the owner of the taxi he was driving took it off him as he did not believe that Malick was declaring his earnings fully - which was emphatically not the case.I met Malick when he was a driver for the Mboka Festival (in 2018) and found him to be a very thoughtful and solid person. "I love this course = the feelings of interactions, the motion to help as well as to establish coexistence and a lasting peace in the community, society, the country and the globe as well" he said. Sisters of  Reggae continue to go from strength to strength with several bookings in the same weekend in some instances, lucky we are 5 DJ selectors strong - with our MC MAD X as well

Meantime as per below there is a new character in the ring joining Baboushka and Richard, namely ARTHUR ALECUP who is a key component of Glimmer Theatre's touring CABAREILIDH which is taking Surrey towns by storm. The GT were commissioned to research the folk history of Surrey and bring it into the Cabareildh performances for the summer with a great string of dates  - see poster - and very splendid it is too!

And also I think Malika Beraud of Malika's fabulous West African artefacts, jewlery, household decor who will have a stall at the event and is initiating arts and agriculture actions in Senegal where she spends a lot of time. 

THURSDAY June 6th will be a music catch UP!! PREVIOUS GUESTS include Mulele Matondo music brains and great collaborator with Kongo Dia Ntotila recently signed to Pussyfoot Record,; Sans Soucis angel voiced Italo-Congolese Singer Songwriter with Unchain and cultural activist Nike Jonah sharing news of Counterpoint Arts Popular Culture and Social Change panel addressing Black Music narratives and ownership with especial reference to migrants' major contribution which is on May 24th at Tate Exchange, Tate Modern.
