Catching up .....

Greetings and the Best of the Season to y'all

This is just a short post today as I have got behind on here! See the updated Radio page with the full details of guests in THE OUTERGLOBE on Resonance 104.4fm DAB and Resonancefm.com . And I did a page to detail some of the artists I have worked with who I am not working with currently as I draw my horns in somewhat.  I have also updated the Promised information in The Outerglobe   page as well so it has all that I mentioned on the December 21st 2017 show as a resource. Not the playlist - I will add that anon.  Be sure to go right through this post as there is an important notice about Resonance 104.4 FM lower down - you can make a difference!

Greetings - crisp December opens UP!!

And on mixcloud www.mixcloud.com/resonance/outerglobe-30th-november-2017     With  analysis, critique, passion and positive possibilities too. Above all  it's a tribute to the community resilience and support and to the survivors of the fire on June 14th 2017 and those displaced still struggling and hoping six months  on (almost)

November speeds along - some more crucial updates and tracks from The Outerglobe

I'm mainly focussing on Radio and DJaying at the moment, not doing  so much for musicians however recently I have had requests from a couple of people to resume some agency activity so I  may do. That's much simpler than band management for which I think I have done my splendid best  and will bow out of that. For DJaying go to the page link in the selection tabs above. UP!!

RADIO - today's show had some fabulous music  but we needed to talk over it quite a lot and I promised you a link to the tracks played during my discussion with Alexia Clorinda (www.alexiaclorinda.info) about her research into the links between voudoun and music in the Haitian Revolution of the 18th into 19th Century and ongoing up til now. The show is now up on www.mixcloud.com/resonance/the-outerglobe-23rd-november-2017 and as you listen these are the tracks played:

Still I  Rise - Darker Strength - Gotta Scatta ; Sahra - Toutard;                 Feminine Vibe - Teshay Mackay; Kenbe Fem - Germa Adan

AND then here are the links for the Haitian tracks Alexia Clorinda selected which you can listen to without overchatting later:

“Voudou Cerimony”  Zing

“Ke-m pa sote” (My heart doesn’t jump, I am not frightened)  Bookman Eksperyans

“Lem pa we soley la Jean Michel Daudier

“Anbago” Ram

You can also enjoy a couple of tracks we didn't get round to playing

Time for an UP!!D8 for July 2017

A QUICK UP!!D8  as I have got a bit behind on here.  Do be in touch wth me direct and follow Outerglobe website too. I am on twitter @outerglobe and instagram also with @outerglobe

With no apologies for a change in tone from my usual posts, we'll start with a minute's silence for all those who died in the Grenfell Fire just over a month ago. I do believe we are talking about maybe 300 people rather than the 80 officially mentioned. My opinion, shared by many, is that the fire was a criminal act and that there must be some arrests and convictions for what amounts to murder. There is a well defined trail of those responsible for decisions and shoddy materials.  There are some sound sites to donate to if you wish www.gofundme.com/grenfell-tower-fire-fund is one that is supported by the community itself.  Check also details in www.grenfellsupport.wordpress.com

THIS WEEK IN THE OUTERGLOBE between 6.30-7.30pm UK time on Resonance 104.4FM & DAB Londonwide and www.resonancefm.com Worldwide. I am picking up the thread I started a couple of weeks ago with musician/activists Ray Carless (Club Skaaville) and Kevine Haynes (Grupo Elegua) who are immersed in community action support around the Grenfell Fire with Westway 23 and One Voice. Both also have wonderful new music out which we'll play. Healer/Women's empowerment networker Carol Mathebula of Vunkuwa International Academy joins the discussion as well.

Listen to all editions so far of The Outerglobe at this link

SISTERS OF REGGAE have our July Dance on Saturday July 29th at the Queens Head, Brixton, London. It's free between 9pm-1am. See our facebook page! I rode solo for this month's Sisters of Reggae show on Balamii Radio which I really enjoyed doing. Everything Sisters of Reggae play is 100% Vinyl 100% Reggae in all its vintage forms! Pure niceness. Listen to the show here

Come back to the page soon .... I am doing some more updating on here and will also UP!D8 everything else ... Promise!
