Yaaba Funk
A floor-filling extravaganza combining the tightest rhythm section this side of Accra, fat analogue basslines, blazing horns, sparkling African and gritty rock guitars. One of London's best-loved live bands, Yaaba Funk play barnstorming Afro Funk. Their debut album "Afrobeast", was released in 2010 on their own Yaabaphone imprint with the help of Stern's Records. In early 2011 the band performed at the Sauti Za Busara festival in Zanzibar (with support from the PRS for Music Foundation) and recently delivered a storming set in support of Seun Kuti and the Egypt 80. Yaaba Funk are currently putting the finishing touches to their as yet untitled second lp, which will be released in 2012.

Gypsy Hill
In Gypsy Hill DJ Kobayashi and Herbert Newbert bring together the balls and the brass from the Balkans, surf-rock Mediterranean guitar lines, Arabic & Jewish melodies, massive bass-lines and a whole heap of electronics, scratching and beats. Starting out as a producer duo, the Gypsy Hill live band soon grew to a 7 piece beats and brass extravaganza - the band have a fast-growing reputation for their high energy shows with big screen visuals and dancers also thrown into the mix. They've played at some of the UK’s biggest summer festivals such as Glastonbury, Guardian’s Hay Festival, The Big Chill, Reading/Leeds and Bestival and are currently working on their debut album. www.myspace.com/gypsyhill
