Welcome to The Outerglobe - the umbrella for all my runnings. Of late I am becoming much more of an artist myself rather than a 'can I help you' apparatchik.
My main activities in the music/arts world are in Broadcasting/editing/producing/presenting Radio shows - most particularly The Outerglobe on Resonance FM which goes out weekly on Thursdays 6.30-7.30pm UK time [Repeat Sundays at 4pm and on mixcloud.com/outerglobe] "Debbie Golt FRSA takes African music and wider arts and culture as her starting point". I also go onto other radio stations as invited - doing mixes, being interviewed and recently in takeovers with Vinyl Sisters.
AND Djaying in my own right (under my own name, no pseudonym!) and as part of a crew - most notably Vinyl Sisters and Foreign Office Club. I play mostly Reggae and African music, wider also. I prefer vinyl and also play CDs and sticks.
I coordinate and co-host a monthly residency at Upstairs at the Ritzy - Vinyl Sisters and Outerglobe Femxle DJ Relay - which is going from strength to strength. 3 of us - myself, Miss Feelgood and Kaya M - host on rotation 2 at a time and we invite womxn to join us as guests. Some may never have played before, others want to have fun in a friendly space. We help those new to the decks or in need of a refresher standing beside them all the way if need be. Some guests become part of the whole crew, others dip in. The crowd is lovely - of all ages and backgrounds (like the DJs) with regulars coming back often and new people feeling at home straight away.
